Description: Set amid five glorious acres are priceless sculptures, all of which make up the magnificent Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. The Sculpture Garden is the latest cultural destination for visitors to New Orleans and provides a unique opportunity for visitors who treasure the arts. The world-class collection of modern and contemporary sculpture is presented in an exquisite natural setting with delights at every turn. The project is a collaborative effort of the New Orleans Museum of Art, City Park and the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Foundation. Visitors will find more than 50 sculptures by such artists as Henry Moore, Fernando Botero, Antoine Bourdelle, Gaston Lachaise, William Zorach, Jacques Lipchitz, Barbara Hepworth, Seymour Lipton, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Kenneth Snelson, George Rickey, Elisabeth Frink, Masayuki Nagare, Lynn Chadwick, Louis Bourgeois, Jesus Bautista Moroles, George Segal, Deborah Butterfield, Alison Saar and Joel Shapiro. The sculptures, which are gifts from the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Foundation combined with works from the Museum’s permanent collection, are valued in excess of $25 million.  Hours for the Sculpture Garden are Fri, Sat and Sun from 10:00 – 4:30. Admission is free. Visitors please note: dogs, bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards and picnicking are not allowed in the Sculpture Garden. You may touch the sculptures, but do not climb on them. Located next to the Sculpture Garden is the magnificent New Orleans Museum of Art, set in the splendor of City Park, with 1,500 acres of walking paths, centuries old oak trees, a small amusement park, lagoons and Storyland.
