ABOUT:

Located on the historic St. Claude Avenue, St. Roch Market is the iconic community food hall that has been recreated from its original version to present fresh prepared food and market staples from 13 different vendors. From specialty coffee to po-boys and drinks at the bar, the market hosts a variety of locally acclaimed chefs and cuisine. So no matter your craving, appetite or time of day, St. Roch Market has something to satisfy your taste buds.

History

St. Roch Market was originally created as a state-owned, open-air market on St. Claude Avenue in 1875. After thriving for many years and then barely surviving through the Great Depression, the historic venue evolved into a privately owned seafood market in the late 20th century.

When hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, the market was nearly destroyed, as the storm severely damaged both its interior and exterior structures. Today St. Roch Market has undergone complete transformation into a rejuvenated community market place and local favorite for any time of day.

The New Market

Today's market hosts 11 local vendors inside its white columned structure. There are plenty of seating areas available on the inside, as well as charming patio areas on the front of the building.

Each vendor is independent; individual stalls will have you check out after ordering and will take your name for the order. The Market serves breakfast and coffee every morning, as well as delectable snacks, meals, drinks and homemade grocery items throughout the day and evening.

Menu items include fresh juice, oysters, traditional and contemporary Creole dishes, seasonal produce, fresh cakes and cookies and much more!

The market has daily happy hour specials as well as trivia nights, weekend brunch specials, and other special events. To keep up with the latest, visit www.strochmarket.com or follow the market on Facebook and Instagram.

Getting There

St. Roch Market is located on the corner of St. Claude Ave. and St. Roch Ave. just on the edge of the Marigny neighborhood.

There is off-street parking along both sides of the building, as well as a full parking lot behind the Whitney Bank next door and off street parking on St. Claude Avenue.
